The weather just can't make up it's mind. We've had gale force winds here the past 2 days, which doesn't make me want to leave my house. It's rained, hailed, and snowed. The other day while TS shopping I found this awesome bean pot, cheap 1.50, and this planter which is a Haeger .75. I had to have them both. I looked online for hours to find that planter, but couldn't, oh well. I loved the look of it, and will sometime this spring plant something in it. I'm also trying to sell my wedding dress since none of ya'll down there in Oootah wanted it to cut up and make stuff out of it. Hopefully the weather takes a turn for the better before this weekend as I plan on picking asparagus, and don't want to do it in the wind, again, this year

I was looking on Cragslist this morning, and in the interests of wanting stuff I do not need, nor have room for I thought I'd put this little desk on here.

It is so cute! I have no space for it, nor do I have a child who would use it, but I want it. It's only $55 which I think is a good buy. I will not buy it however, because that little voice of Jades that is forever in my head when I "want" something is saying, where will you put that? It's true! There was a bunch of other stuff on Craigslist that I wanted but this desk was the only thing, that I really wanted! HA HA!

The New to us Truck

So, Jade sold his old truck and said he'd be fine going through the summer with just Pepe. I knew, and was totally certain on this point, that that wouldn't happen. As it turns out, I was right. So here it is, for your viewing pleasure, Jades new truck. It's a 2000 Chevy 2500HD 5 speed manual transmission Extended Cab 4 door, long box. It is a rather pretty color, and a nice truck.

To Cricut, or not too......

So I have read my sisters blog, and come to find out she has a Cricut. Now, I have wanted one of these bad boys for some years now, but can't seem to get DH to surprise me with one for any required gift giving occasion. REALLY? Not Jade! So I will just have to resign myself to buying one, for, myself. I want the big one, the expressions, because it's the biggest one they make. They are also coming out with a Cake Cricut, and I would want that too, of course, but have read you can do almost all the same things with an original machine. The problem I see, is this. I don't scrapbook, at all, ever. Other than the ability to cut vinyl on this thing, and maybe do a little cake decorating? I'm not exactly sure what else I would use it for. So, should I just buy a cheaper (not much) industrial vinyl cutter that I can hook up to my computer, which would also be WAY bigger (probably have to store it in the basement), or buy a Cricut? For those of you who have one, or have used one, I'd like some feedback, please.

Strawberries

I had Jade run out last week and buy me some strawberries. I had every intention of dipping them in chocolate, but as I was sick, just couldn't get up the energy. SOOOOOOO, now I have to do something with them, before they go bad. I still don't feel very good, but just hate to see them berries thrown away, so I am going to make jam. I love freezer jam, and strawberry freezer jam the very best. So while Jade is diligently working on the mop boards and back splash, I will be making jam. I might hold a few of the very best, and biggest berries back to dip them in chocolate. Because really, who doesn't like chocolate dipped strawberries?

The Kitchen Floor

How Totally cool is it that I now have a new kitchen floor. Jade and a friend installed it yesterday.

This is the scary truth about our carpet....the color it was when we moved in. The almost white strip, yeah, thats the color!

These pictures go to show, how sometimes we all have to act like Cinderella. Jade took this pictures to show how every once in 10 years I clean the floor.

There is finally a light at the end of the kitchen tunnel. WAHOO!

The Beginning of the End?

So, some of the demo has started on the kitchen floor. I'm very excited, and hope I love my wood that I'm putting down. These are just a couple of pics of what the floor looks like now. I'll be sooooo glad to see that linoleum go, even if it's just covered up. These are the mop boards pulled and waiting for the trash.

On a different note, this picture is the end cap of my bottom cabinets. it's white and ugly and doesn't match anything in my kitchen anymore, and it is going to go away. I Just had this fight with my mom, as she had a part of her old cabinet color in her kitchen, as seen in the pics. Jade and Paul have fixed that however, so it mostly matches the rest.

My floor should be done saturday night sometime...hopefully.
P.S. We have shut our home phone off, after long hours of debate, we just don't use it enough to pay $40 bucks a month for it. Sigh, thats the longest time I've ever had a phone number.

Easter and such

So, off we went to Utah to finish my moms kitchen. But alas, that couldn't happen, because I swear, sometimes there isn't an adult in that house. I wonder sometimes how they survive. They were shy a cabinet, or ordered the wrong size of cabinet, who knows for sure. But this is what most of her kitchen looks like. Jade built the butcher block on the island. Paul and Jade hung the upper cabinets on the wall. I do love moms choice of cabinets!

Also, friday, the day we arrived in Utah my sisters family was having Easter on the flats. So I wandered on down to join the fun. These are all her kids, their spouses and children, and a couple extras. I was the one taking the picture. What an amazing family this is.

I guess I was sick before I left home, but of course it doesn't manifest itself until later, cuz I got sick at moms. Just a cold I think, but still I am sick. SUCKS!
My niece also trimmed my hair and colored it. Mom hated it of course, even went as far as asking me if thats what I wanted. LOL! K does a great job, look how perfectly weaved the color is. I would have done my hair, but I am still sick, which translates into lazy as well. K was a little nervous to do my hair, as the last time she did it, I kind of went postal on her. Sorry. But it is wonderful, and I'm sure when I'm done being sick and do my hair, finally, I'll love it even more than I do now.

Just one last note....We went home through Flaming Gorge and have to pass through Vernal to do so. They have dinosaurs statues all over, and this big fella was all dolled up for Easter. I thought it was funny and cute.
