HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

On this day, 38 years ago, in an early season blizzard, after hours of extremely hard labor, the doctors handed my mother the most beautiful baby girl she had ever seen. Ha, ha, ha.....I don't really know the story of my birth, but I'm sure it was uneventful, but I always have my imagination, right?
Jade always wants to go out for dinner on birthdays, but I have turned into such a snob, that I really don't enjoy doing that anymore. It's because I'm such a FANTASTIC cook, that I usually can make the same thing at home for cheaper, AND, better. So why even bother, I ask myself. So because the weather is absolutely terrible here, raining etc., that I'm just gonna cook ribeye steaks and baked potatoes, maybe I'll run out and see if I can find some asparagus, as I love, love, love it. And we'll have chocolate volcano cakes for desert, which we warm in the microwave and serve with ice cream. Yummy! I'll light candles (probably because I'll have to as the power will go out ha ha), and cuddle up and watch a movie. It'll be wonderful.

Well the time has come it seems to clean up EVERYTHING! UGH! I do so hate to clean, but by wednesday the forecast is calling for snow, and I have been storing a lot of "projects" outside. So time to buckle down, and start. I hope everyone has enjoyed their indian summer, because it is about to come to a screeching halt! I had a blast over the weekend at my nieces wedding reception. I spent some time with 3 other of my siblings. Even my oldest brother was a pleasure to be around, usually he is not! Thank goodness for families is all I have to say, and I have the bestest family, and in-laws EVER!

VEGAS IS A BUST!

Okay, back from Vegas. Not a big deal anymore. First off let me start by saying I was very surprised how dirty Las Vegas Blvd really is. Who knew? Second, it was not a destination I would ever care to go back to, but Jade loves it for reasons I'm not entirely sure of. Third, we ate mostly at buffets, and only had one reasonably good one, at the Fremont Casino and Hotel, if anyone cares. Fourth, public transportation is really the way to go while in vegas without a car. I didn't really have enough fun to write home about, but am doing so anyways because of the hype. We went and saw all the free stuff there is to see in Vegas, and that was mostly fun. Jade did drag me to ride the roller coaster at New York New York. It would have been more fun if I wouldn't have had to keep my mouth closed for fear of my teeth falling out! LOL! Also I had to take a headache pill after. Jade did drag me everywhere. He wants to go back to vegas in Jan. or Feb. maybe it'll just have to be a guy trip, cuz I'm not sure I care to go back. The wind started blowing, and it sprinkled, and they shut the pool down for the rest of the day. I was like WHAT? We saw 1 show while we were there, and it was the dumbest thing ever, glad I didn't have to pay for it. But I got some really cool pictures, and now I can say I have been to Vegas. If I was to go back, I would go with someone who has lived there, and take gobs of cash (really, who has gobs of cash), eat and stay at the best places, and have a driver at my disposal. BTW, you really wouldn't be able to tell from being in Vegas, that the bottom has fell out of anything!

VEGAS here we come!

So, I know this is hard to believe and everything, but I have never been to Las Vegas, Nevada! I know, I know, in all my travels, Vegas is one place I just never needed to visit. I have, however, driven by it several times. Well, we leave for Vegas tomorrow. We actually got a smokin' deal flying out of Idaho Falls and our room for 3 nights for $336, TOTAL! Yes folks, you heard me right........Our room for 3 nights and 2 round trip tickets. So Jade decided that instead of rendezvous, we'd go to Vegas. I'm excited, not so much for Vegas, but because this will be an honest to goodness real vacation, flying proves it! HA HA HA! No white beaches, but the lows for Vegas are low 70's! We are staying at the Riviera, not my first choice, but really, who needs a room anyways? Plans are to visit the Fremont Experience, the water show at the Bellagio, The Sirens of Treasure Island (Jades deal), and to eat at a lot of buffets, and do some gambling. Since we are poor folk, and can't afford to see any real shows, we'll just have to see all the free ones.
